Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible
RankMe World is run by the RankMe World team, who decides how your information is used (the "controller" in data-protection law). Contact: [to be completed: a way to contact you: an email address or a link].
2. What we keep
| What | Where it comes from | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Your wallet address (it identifies your profile) | Your wallet, when you pay or sign in | Everyone |
| Other wallets you add to your profile | You | Only you, on the site. But each payment links to its public blockchain transaction, which shows the wallet that sent it. |
| Username and avatar; for top ranks, an optional picture, bio and colours; taunts | You | Everyone |
| Payments: token, amount, dollar value, time, network, transaction id | The blockchain and our own record of the move | Everyone |
| Play history: ranks held, who you overtook and who overtook you, achievements, prestige, season results, how many times your profile was viewed | Created as you play | Everyone |
| Which version of the Terms you accepted, and when | Recorded when you pay | Only us |
| A scrambled copy of the sign-in keys issued to your browser (the keys themselves cannot be recovered from it) | Created when you pay or sign in | Only us |
| Reports: which profile was reported and the reason typed | The person reporting | Only moderators. We do not record who sent a report. |
We do not ask for or keep your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, password, or anything about your wallet beyond its public address. We never see your private keys or recovery phrase.
3. Network addresses (IP)
Like every website, our server sees the network address your request comes from. We use it, in the server's memory only, to stop abuse: limiting how fast one visitor can make requests, and counting a profile view or a report once per hour. It is not written to our database and is forgotten within about an hour or when the server restarts. The company that hosts the site may keep its own short-term access logs for security.
4. What is stored in your browser
The site sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage, on your device only, to remember: which wallet you last connected, the sign-in keys that let you edit your profile, the token and network you last chose, notices you dismissed, and that you accepted the Terms. This is needed for the site to work and is not used to track you. Clearing your browser's site data for this site removes all of it.
5. Other companies your browser contacts
Loading or using the site makes your browser fetch things from other companies, who then see your network address and can apply their own privacy policies:
- Google Fonts (Google): the site's typefaces, on every visit.
- CoinGecko and DexScreener: token icons; and DexScreener's price chart if you open one.
- unpkg (a public code library host): one code file, only if you pay from a Solana wallet.
- Your wallet and the services it uses, when you connect, sign or pay.
- Block explorers and X, only if you click a link to them.
We run no analytics, advertising or social-media trackers.
6. Other companies our server contacts
- Blockchain node providers: to check a payment or a balance we send them the wallet address and transaction id concerned. Both are already public.
- Price services (AVNU, CoinGecko, DexScreener): we ask them for token prices. Nothing about you is sent.
- A picture-checking service (OpenAI), if we have switched automatic checking on: a profile picture you upload is sent to it once, to be checked for nudity and sexual content before anyone sees it. Otherwise a moderator looks at it.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site's data on our behalf.
Some of these companies are outside the country you live in, including outside the European Economic Area and the UK. We do not sell your information to anyone.
7. Blockchains are public and permanent
When you pay, the transaction is recorded on a public blockchain: the sending wallet, the receiving wallet, the token, the amount and the time. Anyone can see it, forever. We cannot change or delete it, and deleting your profile here does not remove it. Anyone who knows which wallet is yours can see what you paid.
8. Why we use it, and on what legal ground
- To run the game you paid to play: confirming payments, placing you on the board, showing your profile and history. (Performing our contract with you.)
- To keep the site safe and fair: rate limits, detecting abuse and exploits, moderation, handling reports. (Our legitimate interest in running a safe service.)
- To keep the records the law requires, such as accounts and tax records of payments received. (Legal obligation.)
We do not make decisions about you by automated profiling, and we do not use your information for marketing.
9. How long we keep it
- Your profile and play history are kept for as long as the site runs: the permanent record (Hall of Fame, achievements, prestige) is what the game is.
- If you ask us to remove your profile, we replace your username with a neutral one and delete your picture, bio, colours, taunts, linked-wallet list and sign-in keys. Board results that other players' histories depend on stay, without your chosen name.
- Payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires.
- Backups are kept for about 14 days.
- Reports are deleted when a moderator has dealt with them.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you can ask us to: tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy; correct it; delete it; limit or stop how we use it; or send it to you in a portable form. Write to [to be completed: a way to contact you: an email address or a link]. Because we know you only by your wallet, we will ask you to prove the wallet is yours by signing a free message with it.
You can also complain to the data-protection authority of the country you live in.
11. Age
The site is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly keep information about anyone younger; if you believe we do, tell us and we will remove it.
12. Security
We hold no passwords and no payment card details, and the site never has access to your funds. Sign-in works by a signature from your wallet. We take reasonable steps to protect what we do hold, but no website can promise perfect security.
13. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version and date appear at the top of this page.
